Concrete can be colored in general. We usually use a dye to color concrete, and your concrete will accept color depending on its permeability, texture, and other variables. Remember that your base color (the canvas) is grey when selecting colors. Most colors will darken concrete and become significantly darker when sealed—making concrete lighter than it seems.
The new layer should be at least 2 inches thick. It’ll easily crack under stress and not bond properly if it’s more delicate.
